Common side effects include:
Serious allergic reactions are rare but should be reported to your doctor if they occur.
Mometasone inhibits the formation and activity of inflammatory mediators, reducing inflammation and symptoms.
Used to manage:
Soneta is a topical steroid containing Mometasone. It works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause skin redness, swelling, and itching. It depresses the formation, release, and activity of endogenous inflammatory mediators like kinins, histamine, liposomal enzymes, and prostaglandin. This leads to reduced inflammation, vascular dilation, and cell migration to the injury site, thus decreasing symptoms like swelling, itching, and redness.
Adult Dose: Apply a thin film of 0.1% cream/ointment to the affected area once daily.
Child Dose: For children >2 years, apply a thin film of 0.1% cream/ointment to the affected area once daily for not more than 3 weeks.
Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors may increase systemic exposure to mometasone.
Contraindicated in individuals with a history of sensitivity reactions to Mometasone or any components of the preparation.
Store in a cool and dry place, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
